Sun Yat Sen Memorial, Taipei

This is part of the fun Taiwan travel series. View the full itinerary here.

Sun Yat-Sen memorial park is another famous attraction in Taipei.
Most tourists like to go there to witness the hourly changing of guards.

It is very conveniently located within the Chung-Shan vicinity and reachable by MRT.
If you have time to space, you could enter the memorial hall and view some of the artifacts on display, as well as visit the library.

Initially, we wanted to stick around longer - but I was a bit overwhelmed by the hordes of tourists from mainland. I guess they have extra reason to visit since this is a memorial to their National Father? As such, we refrained from entering  the memorial hall itself.

The gardens are vast and nicely maintained. On a sunny day, you could see a nice view of Taipei 101.

Another attraction was the statue of Sun Yat Sen in the park. Be prepared to queue up on a busy day to take a photo! :) I wanted to take a picture of the statue alone, but failed to - the queue never seems to end!.

After a quick look around we decided to go to our next destination. I'll save the changing of guards for the next trip!

Getting there:
Take the Metro to Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall stop and head East. Just follow the signs.
