This is going to be a lengthy blog on my recent fun travel to Taiwan. I will try to split the post into several smaller ones.
We managed to book flight tickets to Taiwan at a fairly reasonable price from Cathay Pacific airlines a few months ago - so off we go!
Here's a quick summary of the places I managed to visit.
Day 1: Taichung
Taoyuan - Taichung - Dinner at Lao Dong Beef Noodles - Fengjia Night Market - Staying at Fengjia Music House
Day 2: Taichung - Sun Moon Lake
Taichung: Miyahara Eye Specialist - Breakfast at Yong He Dou Jiang, Buying Sun Cakes - Exploring Sun Moon Lake - Staying at Laurel Villa
Day 3: Sun Moon Lake - Cingjing
Sun Moon Lake: Speedboat ride - to Cing Jing - Small Swiss Garden - Staying at Misty Villa
Day 4: Cingjing - Taipei
Cingjing Green Green Grassland - to Taipei - Dinner at Yong Kang Street - Staying above Taipei Bus Station
Day 5: Taipei free and easy
Breakfast - Fu Hang Soya Milk - Zhongxiao Shopping District - Dazzling Cafe - Taipei 101 - Shihlin Night Market
Day 6: Taipei one day tour
Nanya Rocks - YinYang Sea - Wang you gu - Golden Waterfalls - lunch at Keelung Miao Kou - Jinguashi Gold Ecological Museum - Jiufen - Shifen
Day 7: Taipei one day tour
Yangmingshan - Siao You Keng - Shimendong - Yeliu Geopark - Lunch at Fu Ji Yu Gang - Danshui Old Street - Fisherman's Wharf and Lover's Bridge - Ximending
Day 8: Taipei free and easy
Bo Pi Liao - Lunch - National Palace Museum - Sunnyhills pineapple pastries - More shopping near Sogo
Day 9: Taipei free and easy
Sun Yat Sen Memorial - Lunch at a secret place - Wufenpu - Raohe Night Market
Day 10: Taipei - back home
Early flight back.
Places worth a visit that I did not manage to go this time: Wulai, Hualien, Alishan, Beitou, CKS memorial, Pingdung, Kending.. just to list a few. 10 days are definitely not enough.
