Having reached Cingjing early, after refreshing ourselves, we set out to explore the surrounding areas near our minsu.
We started off by having a light lunch at MOS Burger, Starbucks Plaza. It was drizzling slightly and so we headed indoors to somewhere warm first.
Lip smacking burgers. Definitely going to miss them!
There were some shops selling pastries and souvenirs in the complex. Saw one called Old England, likely related to the Old England guesthouse (the most expensive accommodation in the area).
After awhile the rain stopped. Whew... relieved.
We went back to the minsu to buy entrance tickets to Small Swiss Garden.
Seasoned travelers who have seen it all might have described Little Swiss Garden as contrived and not very well maintained.
However, I thought that it was a charming spot, a nice way to spend the afternoon.
The entrance was just next to Carton King.
Once you pass the checkpoint, they will stamp the logo mark on your hand, and you can have unlimited access for the rest of the day.
There were a lot of colorful flowers in full bloom. And also a number of LED plants that I guess will light up at night.
Every hour, the musical fountain show will be held. At night there will be lights accompanying the fountain.
Hello, panda.
We spent around 2 hours idling there before the mist settled at dusk. There are a lot of nice photo taking opportunities here.
Overall, for a first timer, I enjoyed strolling around the gardens and I wouldn't mind being back again if I ever had the chance to revisit Cingjing. I do hope they keep the gardens well maintained. But for such a reasonable fee, I don't have any complaints.
Tip: You could get yourself a free coffee at the 7-11 after you visit the garden by showing your ticket receipt. Discounted tickets are available at 7-11, or from the minsus.
