Yong He Dou Jiang 永和豆浆 appears to be a very common breakfast chain across Taiwan, there are outlets in every major city.
There is one outlet located just across the road from Miyahara, Taichung.
Our very first taste of traditional breakfast: soya milk, cruellers and chinese pancakes (焼餅)
After breakfast, we walked down the same row of shophouses to buy some snacks.
Hsin Tung Yang, a very convenient chain store selling Taiwanese souvenirs. You have EVERYTHING here. Mochi, Bak Kua, Pineappple cakes, Sun cakes, everything. Pretty convenient. If you don't have time to scout for souvenirs all across town, you could buy it at Taoyuan Airport.
Finally, Tai Yang Tang 太陽堂, the original Sun Cake store. Trust me when I say nothing beats the original.
Sadly, the trademark was never registered and now there are scores of shops selling the same.

Getting there: walk across the road from Miyahara Eye Specialist.
This is part of the fun Taiwan travel series. View the full itinerary here.
