Pura Taman Ayun, Mengwi

Pura Taman Ayun, also known as the Royal Family Temple, is one of the famous attractions in Bali.
It is located near Mengwi (somnewhere South of Bali).

The temple grounds are surrounded by a moat and there is a small pathway where the public can access, to walk around the main temple compound.

Taman Ayun basically means 'beautiful garden' and I can see where the name came from. The gardens leading to the temple are beautifully maintained and there is a beautiful fountain near the second courtyard.

FYI, temples in Bali consist of 3 sections: the outer courtyard, second courtyard and innermost court, with the third being a sacred zone.

Not being able to view the inner courtyard from a close distance, we had to be content with viewing the grand structures from outside the enclosing wall.

Here are more shots, taken from the surrounding path.
