Shihlin Night Market, Taipei

This is part of the fun Taiwan travel series. View the full itinerary here.

After spending the afternoon at Taipei 101, it's time for dinner again.

Shihlin Night Market, being very near to Taipei 101, naturally became our preferred destination! It's super convenient to go there, just take the red line from Taipei 101 MRT to Jiantan station.

Note: Alighting at Shihlin Station would bring you to the other end, so I recommend getting outat Jiantan instead. Just follow the crowd after exiting the MRT!

We were greeted by a cheery neon sign.

There are people and food everywhere.

This looked good, so we made our first stop. Have I mentioned that the stewed herbal soup in Taiwan is to die for? Less savory than bah kut teh but just as good!

We had pork ribs and lamp. At NT $80 and NT $110 respectively, I couldn't decide which was better.

Grilled squid on skewer sticks, NT $60. We had this everywhere we went.

Beef rolls at NT $10 each.

Turkey meat, very tender and more flavorful than chicken. NT $100.

Grilled mochi with different flavors. NT $30 each.

Supersized Taiwanese sausages.

HotStar Fried Chicken. NT $60 and the size was pretty big.

In my opinion, night market food in Taiwan are actually overrated :P
But one should still go there for the experience anyway. It's still fun to see the sights and sounds!

How to go to Shihlin Night Market:
Take Red Line MRT and exit Jiantan station.

Address: No. 101, Jīhé Rd, Shilin District, Taipei City, Taiwan 111

Previous: Taipei 101 | Next: Nanya Rock formations
